- The option if you are looking for an electric outboard motor with remote control or for sailors.
- Promotion: 3 year warranty when registered with ePropulsion.
- NB the basic price does not include battery and remote control
- With hydrogeneration; you receive up to 330 Watt charging current to the battery when the propeller turns during sailing, for example! With 4 hours of sailing, an empty battery is fully charged.
- With a larger tilt angle than the Spirit Plus.
- Available with joystick (tiller) and/or remote control / steering wheel control (remote).
- Subsidy : Electric boat engines and lithium batteries are eligible for Environmental Investment Deduction and Arbitrary Depreciation of Environmental Investments for vessels used commercially. The tax benefit can amount to over 14% of the investment amount with the MIA\Vamil.
- In case of damage caused by sailing, the coverage falls under your private liability insurance. This usually covers up to and including engine power of 1 kW.
Alternative: the Spirit Plus tiller: a more cost-effective option but without a charging function while sailing.
- A lightweight electric outboard motor inclusive an integrated battery: the best in its class!
-
Thrust: The power is comparable to 3 HP. Electric motors have a much higher thrust than a petrol engine.
The engine is suitable for bringing boats up to 900 kilograms to cruising speed and boats up to 300 kilograms to hull speed.
This engine is therefore very suitable for RIBs, sloops, rubber boats (usually up to 5 metres) and sailing boats (up to 7 metres).
For boats with a lighter weight, the 0.7 kW electric outboard motor is available.
For boats with a higher weight, the ePropulsion Navy 3.0 Evo 3kW is available. -
1.276 wH wH unsinkable battery: The engine can be equipped with an easily disconnectable 1,276 wH unsinkable battery.
Assume a consumption of 330 Watt per hour (Wh) 4.5 hours of sailing. At 6 kilometers per hour the range is then 27 kilometers. Sufficient for most water sports enthusiasts. - With the S430 electric sloop 4 meters with steering you can achieve a sailing speed at 100 Watt 5 kilometers per hour (range 65 kilometers), 250 Watt 6 kilometers per hour (range over 30 kilometers), 500 Watt 7 kilometers per hour (range 18 kilometers), 1,000 (1 kW) Watt 8 kilometers per hour (range 10 kilometers).
- The advantage of a second battery: All parts of the ePropulsion are available separately. Including the battery, which can be easily disconnected. It is therefore possible to purchase a second battery. If you go out with two fully charged batteries, you are assured of a good day of sailing.
More affordable AGM or other LiFePO4 batteries are also available. - or other AGM or LiFePO4 batteries (for this you need a special external E-series battery cable 1.5 meters 159,- Article number 00-0601-08
- Charging the battery: The Spirit battery has independent charge and discharge ports, so you can connect the charge port of the battery to an input power source while it is discharging. On a sunny day, you can connect the Spirit battery to a solar panel during a boat trip through the Spirit solar panel and the battery can last a whole day at an economical speed.
- The Spirit 1.0 Evo and Spirit 1.0R (remote) Evo have the same tailpiece.
You can easily convert the Spirit 1.0 Evo Tiller tiller to a 1.0R Evo Remote which are packed in a separate box. So you can always convert the bike later to a version with a tiller or steering wheel control (not included - separate option). - Including Tailpiece/Base Motor (in a box)
- Including Spirit Plus battery (in a box when you order the battery separately)
- Includes Evo joystick (when you choose the joystick variant)
- Including Remote (top) or (side control at additional cost) and including Remote control kit with control adapter , etc (when you choose the remote control)
- For the Remote control you only need a steering cable (from about 100 euros) and a steering wheel (from about 30 euros) to be able to sail with a steering wheel.
- Exclusive: installation 995,-.
- Amazing silent : The Spirit 1.0 is virtually silent with a direct-drive motor. There is no gear transmission which means less friction in the motor. The noise level of the Spirit is comparable to that of an electric toothbrush.
- Electric start, so no longer pulling like with a combustion engine.
- Maximum power adjustable: safe for children, for example.
- Left-handed friendly: you can accelerate by turning the throttle to the left or right.
- Maintenance free : The Spirit 1.0 is a game changer. Spend much less time on maintenance or winterizing. Only replace the rust-resistant anode after 200 hours and grease some parts. Spend less time on your outboard and more time enjoying the water.
- More economical than a combustion engine: 1 hour of full throttle sailing with the Spirit costs less than 0.25 euros (1 kWh). 1 hour of full throttle with a 3hp fuel engine costs about 1 liter = 1.80 euros. A fuel engine needs an annual minor maintenance service (110 euros) and sometimes a major service (200 euros). So with 50 hours per year you save more than 225 euros in costs! After only 3 years of sailing is electric sailing already the most beneficial (a combustion engine is approximately 50% cheaper to purchase).
- Automatically turns off after half an hour of inactivity.
- With a total weight of 20 kilograms including the battery, the set is portable, especially with the accompanying ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Motor and Battery Bag. The control handle (joystick) is easily foldable.

Reviews about the Plus engine that is also in this model
- Review: The Gentle 440 boat is beautiful with an excellent quality ePropulsion Spirit electric outboard motor. Nicholas
- Since this summer the owner of Gentle 430. A wonderful boat for 6 people. With the boat we bought the E-propulsion Spirit (motor). Silent, but very strong and a great battery life. Dico
- Very satisfied with the Epropulsion Spirit 1.0 PLUS - whisper quiet and very powerful, highly recommended! René December 22, 2020
- Great product, well made and delivers performance, convenience, portability and QUIET! Would give 5 stars except for two things: 1) the tilt mechanism keeps the prop from fully coming out of the water; 2) the short shaft is still quite long, too long actually. I would go EXTRA short shaft if you think you need a short shaft. But performance wise the ePropulsion meets all my expectations. Not only is it quiet but the fine control for docking is far beyond anything a gas outboard can deliver. Starting/stopping etc is completely silent and effortless. Also impressed with the battery life and rechargeability - we are using this on a tender replacing a larger Yamaha gas outboard. On my first 5 day trip with the Spirit 1.0 I used it to go to shore or across a bay 2-3 times per day for 5 days and only used 40% of the battery. While at anchor and running my generator for an hour, I charged back up to 15% capacity. While running the boat, charging from my alternator, I fully charged to capacity (from 60% balance to 100% balance) in 2.5 hours of boating. The battery life seems so good, and the charging so efficient, that I don't need a 2nd battery, which was a concern/consideration. Finally, I enjoy wildlife photography, and the ease of use combined with near silent operation allows for close proximity to wildlife to capture images that would not be possible with a gas outboard. Highly recommended! Mark Leopold August 13, 2019 Source: https://www.rjnautical.com/epropulsion/epropulsion-electric-outboards-spirit-1-0-plus-shortshaft/#product-reviews
- Very happy with this purchase, these electric motors make perfect sense now and I am very glad I ditched my old Nissan 8hp for this 6hp electric. It is completely silent with no gas or oil leaks to worry about.Matthew Terrill April 12, 2019 Source
- Excellent: easy to use and store; get many shore trips on one charge. Love it. David M.
- After using the outboard for a couple of weeks and running it for around 10 hours in a range of conditions from calm to heavy Atlantic waves I am very happy with it. As expected I had to modify the outboard on my Drascombe Scaffie quite a bit to give more clearance but it was worth it and the extra short shaft length is absolutely perfect. My daughter has referred to the whole process as "sailing without the sails up Rick - 16 May 2018
- I've been playing with the ePropulsion all weekend and I'm a little bit in love. Here are some observations: - the ePropulsion is definitely faster than the torqeedo (at least the 1003 I had). We get an extra half knot at half power and a whole extra knot at full power. This may have to do with the fact that it is more effective for heavier loads, Amélie weighs about 700 kg. I no longer hold up faster boats behind me when I leave the lock. We can start at a very respectable 7 kilometers per hour (where the torqeedo topped out at 5.5).
- the ePropulsion reacts faster than the torqeedo. I don't know if it's the gearbox, but the power is seemingly instant, which is a real bonus when you're dodging a racing dinghy that's been blown off course.
- We found the ePropulsion to be virtually silent at times. There were a couple of occasions when we were sailing into the wind and didn't even notice the engine was still running!! I wondered how we were doing 7 mph
- battery is good! On a 7 nm trip we used half the battery both days. This was a combination of driving, sailing & motorsailing. At least half the time it was running.
- The ePropulsion beats the tide!! The torqeedo just couldn't handle this.
- ePropulsion is more agile
- the battery may be heavier, but the bag is great! Since it is a backpack, it is much easier to carry despite the extra weight. Seems to be of better quality too.
Overall, I'm quite pleased and glad I went for it.
RD Rainham - July 19, 2018. - It has been a fantastic change for us to have the peace and quiet of the electric motor on the River Thames during the summer. The performance has been quite good, we can get the boat (a Drascombe Lugger) up to about hull speed but at 4mph or so (the max speed on the river is 4-5mph) we are comfortably getting between 4 and 5 hours of power. We usually only do between 3 and 4 and that probably includes a lunch or sundown drink before anchoring/bank tying or a dip in the swim so we haven't really tested the motor to 'Max'.
Apart from the quietness, the simplicity of the engine in terms of starting, restarting and changing gear has given Erica a lot more confidence to go out on her own with the boat (she never quite got the hang of the petrol outboard). The other real advantage is that once we have removed the battery, the engine is so light that we always take it off the transom and store it underneath - there have been many cases of outboards being stolen. I hope all goes well, the engine has attracted a lot of interest from other River users, who all can't believe how quiet it is. - Advantages of electric boating
