Extra comfort: Electric sailing is virtually silent, because there is no engine noise. This ensures a relaxed sailing experience.
Environmentally friendly: An electric boat is better for the environment, because the engine does not emit CO₂ or other harmful substances.
Low maintenance costs: An electric motor requires little maintenance compared to traditional motors.
Long range: With the right battery pack, you can usually sail for between 6 and 10 hours at a time, depending on the conditions.
DISADVANTAGES
Limited number of charging points: The network of charging stations along the water is not yet extensive in many regions. As a result, intermediate charging along the way is often not an option. Planning your sailing route and choosing a battery pack with sufficient capacity is therefore essential for a carefree sailing trip.
Lower top speed: Electric powered sloops have a lower maximum speed than models with a combustion engine. For those who value speed and water sports, a sporty tender sloop is a better choice.
Higher purchase price: The purchase price of an electric boat is still higher than that of comparable models with a petrol engine. In addition, an electric engine has almost no maintenance costs and a petrol engine costs about 150 euros per month.
