Honda 10 HP Outboard Motor BF10 — LRU
Honda 10 HP Outboard Motor BF10 — LRU
Long-tail LRU 10 hp – 4-stroke engine | 2 cylinders – 222 cm³
- The BF10 is known for its superior reliability and fuel economy , with responsive power and performance. According to boat-fuel-economy.com, its full-throttle consumption is 3.8 liters per hour. Its half-throttle consumption is estimated at 1.5 to 2 liters per hour.
-
A rule of thumb is that for fast boats, you need 1 hp for a total weight of 10 to 20 kilograms. Based on this, this outboard motor is suitable for a total weight of 100 to 400 kilograms.
For displacement boats, 1 hp per 150 to 200 kilograms is sufficient; then the engine is adequate for 1.5 to 2 tons of total weight.
And all that in a compact and portable design. - The BF10 engine is suitable for propulsion of boats up to 2,000 kilograms total weight at bow speed and boats up to 6,700 kilograms at cruising speed.
- With the 430 sloop with a boat weight of 200 kilograms you can sail with a 10 hp outboard motor at a maximum speed of 16 to 20 kilometers per hour.
- With an Excel volante SIB inflatable boat you can sail with a 10 hp outboard motor and reach a maximum speed of 33 kilometers per hour.
- With a Safter 400 polyester boat with a boat weight of 210 kilograms, you can sail with a 10 hp outboard motor at a maximum speed of 35 kilometers per hour.
- With a Boat King Rib 300 you can sail with a 10 hp outboard motor and reach a maximum speed of 38 kilometers per hour.
- With a 1648 Alumacraft Jon Boat (4.9 meters) you can sail with a 10 hp outboard motor up to a maximum speed of 26 kilometers per hour.
- Easy starter : a decompression system makes the engine easy to start. This makes the engine much easier to tilt for that first pull if you have a manual starter, and it drains the battery less quickly if you have an electric starter.
- This lightweight 4-stroke engine is easy to start and features Programmed Ignition (PGM IG), which means your Honda will never let you down when starting - even from a cold start.
- Solid Performance: The Honda Programmed Ignition (PGM-IG) delivers precise ignition timing to ensure a to deliver optimal torque and throttle response .
- Easy manual tilt : The lightweight motor is easily tilted into multiple positions. By tilting it up or down, you can manually trim the boat for maximum performance and fuel efficiency. The tilt function also prevents damage to the propeller blades when approaching rocks or the water's edge.
- Easy Reversing : When going forward (A), the propeller will cut through the water normally, but reversing is a different story—unless you have a Honda. On other outboards, the propeller will spin in exhaust bubbles and can't "contact" the water. Our unique reverse exhaust gas guidance system directs the exhaust bubbles away from the propeller (B), allowing it to "grip" the water instead of the air. The result is instant response when reversing, with very precise control.
- High-capacity charging : Keep your battery charged and power electrical devices, even at trolling speeds.
- Full power If you have electrical devices on board, the high-capacity charging coil will keep them perfectly charged and performing their duties – even at trolling speeds. The standard four-bladed propeller transfers power directly into the water via a sleek hydrodynamic gearbox.
- Its stunning silver exterior instantly identifies it as a Honda. Attached to the back of the boat and in the water, it looks fantastic as the surrounding colors are reflected in its exterior. sleek design and beautifully shaped lines run all the way to the super-slim hydrodynamic gearbox. That means less resistance and lower fuel consumption.
- Folding handle: The BF10 has built-in, foldable handles, positioned at just the right balance point, making them very easy to transport.
- 4Front Corrosion Protection: a four-layer coating process that provides protection against UV radiation and salt water. This provides the best protection against the harsh conditions at sea. Four layers of defense: Honda first anodizes the aluminum body with a patented "double-sealing" process. Then, an epoxy primer is applied before the shimmering silver paint is applied. For added UV protection, a topcoat of clear acrylic resin is finally applied. And for added security, a solvent electrode is attached, and all connections are waterproof. Corrosion doesn't stand a chance.

Type
- The boat's transom height determines the outboard motor's shaft length. Measure from the mounting point of the motor to the bottom. Is the transom height around 43 centimeters? Then you'll need a short shaft. For a length of 51 centimeters, a long shaft is best. You'll need an extra long shaft for a length of 63 centimeters.
