Advantages of a POD motor: pod-drives are direct-drive and maintenance-free electric motors for sailboats and small vessels. They are space-saving and maximize your cabin space.
Furthermore, POD motors offer an efficiency gain of between 15 and 30 percent compared to inboard motors. Because they extend below the waterline and are directed straight forward, there is no efficiency-reducing shaft angle, as with inboard motors. This means that thrust is directed in a straight line. Less power and thus consumption is needed to propel a boat at the same speed compared to inboard motors.
