Tohatsu 50 HP outboard motor MFS50A ETL

Tohatsu 50 HP outboard motor MFS50A ETL

Tohatsu MFS50A 4-stroke outboard motor

Tohatsu's 4-stroke models... feature the latest technology! These Tohatsu outboard motors are reliable and boast robust, user-friendly technology. The MFS 50 is the first model in Tohatsu's new lightweight Sporty ECO line. It is the lightest 4-stroke outboard motor in its class.

This outboard motor is suitable for watersports; for water skiing, wakeboarding or wakefoiling (for boats with speeds from 20 kilometers per hour for beginners to 35 kilometers per hour for advanced users).

As a rule of thumb, for fast boats, you need 1 hp for every 10 to 20 kilograms of total weight. Based on this, this outboard motor is suitable for a total weight of 500 to 1000 kilograms.
For displacement boats, 1 hp per 150 to 200 kilograms is sufficient; in that case, the engine is adequate for a total weight of 7.5 to 10 tons.

Test Report 1 Review by Boten.nl magazine: Speed and comfort in an attractive package by Laurens Koster.

  • The test boat is equipped with a 50hp Tohatsu. We have sailed with it many times, and each time the conclusion is that Tohatsu's run remarkably smoothly and quietly. This 3-cylinder 4-stroke is no exception. The boat, by the way, has no rudder, so steering is done with the engine. In the engine well, it is important to provide the engine with sufficient oxygen. Exhaust gases must also not accumulate in the enclosed space. With a set of generously sized vents and a drain hose, this is perfectly managed.
On a virtually flat and windless Veluwemeer, it is striking how easily the Oud Huijzer 616 planes. Effortlessly, we sail about 20 kilometers per hour with the throttle half open. Full throttle, the boat clocks a top speed of approximately 42 kilometers per hour.
  • Test Report 2 review Boten.nl magazine by Arne Smit.
For watersports enthusiasts who like to sail a bit faster, a 50 hp Tohatsu four-stroke outboard motor, for example, is an excellent choice. These engines weigh less than 100 kilograms, so the Topcraft 605 remains light on its feet with a top speed of 50 kilometers per hour. More than enough for water skiing, wakeboarding, or simply enjoying the open water with a boat full of friends.
  • Test Report 3: review on Test Report on Tohatsu.com.au
The test was conducted with a Clark Abalone 435 boat with a total weight of 750 kilograms.
At 3,500 revolutions, a speed of 27 kilometers per hour was achieved with a consumption of 5 liters per hour.
At 6,300 revolutions, a maximum speed of 55 kilometers per hour was achieved with a consumption of 16 liters per hour.

WHY TOHATSU

  • Tohatsu from Japan has been around for over 100 years and produces over 200,000 outboard motors annually. TOHATSU is the largest outboard motor manufacturer in the world.

  • Tohatsu has over 10 percent market share in the Netherlands and is growing fastest in market share in the Netherlands. For models up to 30 hp, it already has over 20% market share

  • Did you know that Mercury even has Tohatsu manufacture its outboard motors up to 30 hp? The only difference is the cowl and the price.
The Tohatsu BFT models from 150 hp upwards have, however, been re-branded Hondas since 2014. So, you get a reliable Honda engine at a Tohatsu price.

  • Tohatsu engines have the highest quality and a lower price than other A brands. Tohatsu is also the only brand that exclusively produces outboard motors, so it has truly specialized.

  • Tohatsu pays great attention to the appearance of its outboard motors, and this is reflected in this model. The look is tough and robust. Underneath the beautifully streamlined cowling, you'll find the trusted Tohatsu technology, developed for years of boating pleasure with minimal maintenance.

  • The Tohatsu engine is user-friendly in all respects. For example, the oil filter is positioned so that you can easily replace it yourself. The lubrication of your outboard motor is optimal thanks to the generous oil reservoir. By applying the proven Tohatsu electronic injection system, your engine starts quickly, and the throttle response is fast. The rpm can be smoothly regulated.

  • Your newly purchased Tohatsu outboard motor comes with a full 5-year factory warranty.

  • Tohatsu always performs well in comparative tests.
    • Read the test reports for the 1530, and 60 hp engines, among others. Tohatsu is the price-performance winner according to Boote Testen.
    • ANWB 'Waterkampioen' also conducted an Outboard Motor Test. The Tohatsu 6 hp emerged as the winner based on weight, noise, and ease of use, among other factors. According to ANWB, it is best to buy a Tohatsu 6 HP outboard motor.
    • Boote-Magazin.de also tested the Tohatsu MFS115 A: impressive result due to the best torque-to-weight ratio and higher top speed. Due to its small displacement, the Tohatsu is also extremely fuel-efficient.
  • Most models are available from stock!

That's why Tohatsu is the best outboard motor.
