For a small boat that needs reliable power, the Tohatsu 4 hp 4-stroke is a compact choice. This motor combines renowned Tohatsu quality with low emissions. This portable bestseller has been upgraded with newly designed top and bottom cowls based on the Tohatsu Design Philosophy for Marine Products, featuring ergonomically designed front and back handles. Furthermore, you can now store your motor in 3 different positions without worrying about oil spills. *Consult the owner's manual for storage and transport guidelines.
- The primary priority in developing the MFS motors is to make them as light and compact as possible, without compromising on reliability, quality, and performance. These fuel-efficient 4-stroke outboard motors meet the long service life that Tohatsu owners have come to value so highly in the brand.
-
As a rule of thumb, for planing boats you need 1 hp per 10 to 20 kilograms of total weight. Based on this, this outboard motor is suitable for 40 to 80 kilograms of total weight, for example with a light inflatable boat.
For displacement boats, 1 hp per 150 to 200 kilograms is sufficient; in that case, the motor is adequate for 600 to 800 kilograms.
