Selva Yamaha 15/17 hp outboard motor

The Selva Wahoo and XSR versions combine Selva tuning with Yamaha-based technology. The configuration and tuning differ per model.

Why choose the XSR version?

XSR is Selva's sportier-tuned line. Selva positions XSR engines as sport tuned: the technical base remains recognizable, but the tuning is focused on more direct throttle response and stronger performance.

• More power in this offered version: the Selva Yamaha XSR is offered at Marinaut as 17 hp, compared to 15 hp for the standard Wahoo version.
• Sportier tuning: the XSR version is aimed at a more direct throttle response and more pulling power during acceleration.
• Planes faster: especially with lighter boats, tenders, and sportier use, the extra pulling power can help get the boat on plane more smoothly.
• Power Trim & Tilt: with the F15SAEPL version, the engine angle can be adjusted electrically while cruising. This helps with acceleration, handling, and finding an efficient trim position.
• Same compact power class: the XSR remains a relatively light and compact outboard, but offers extra power within this specific version compared to the standard 15 hp Wahoo.

Who is the XSR for?

The XSR version is particularly interesting for lighter sloops, tenders, and sporty boats where acceleration and getting on plane faster are more important. Those who mainly cruise calmly and economically might find the standard 15 hp Wahoo a simpler choice.

The added value of the XSR therefore lies not only in the higher stated power, but especially in the combination of extra pulling power, more direct throttle response, and Power Trim & Tilt. For calm cruising, the standard 15 hp Wahoo is a logical choice; for those who place more emphasis on acceleration and sportier handling, the 17 hp XSR offers clearly more.
