  • The 575 is a beautiful sturdy quality sloop with the engine in the bun. This classic clinker-built sloop is ideally suited to explore the beautiful Dutch waters in comfort and style.
  • The sloop has higher backrests and a deeper cockpit. The engine well ensures that the (electric) outboard motor is out of sight and therefore produces much less noise .
  • This sloop can be equipped with either an electric motor or a fuel engine.
  • At the front you have a dinette for 6/8 people, which can also be converted into a comfortable removable sun deck.
  • In the bow you have a storage space that can also be used as a toilet facility. Midships you have two spacious storage compartments. In the back is a wide bench seat where two people can sit comfortably. Under the bench seat you have space for the fuel tank, battery and other items. CLEVER 58

Specifications

  • The sloop has 4 deep storage compartments (boxes) under the benches and in the cockpit.
  • The centrally positioned steering console provides an overview and sufficient space for all passengers. You can easily change places.
  • Plenty of space due to the length of 5.8 meters and width of 2.2 meters.
  • By transporting the weight of 600 kilograms well with a sloop trailer . Transport the sloop easily from the storage with a Knott 750 sloop trailer to a sailing area at home or abroad.
  • The draft is only 0.4 meters and the clearance is 0.8 meters, so you can sail virtually anywhere .
  • Deep polyester white cockpit with black hull (other RAL colours available). Polyester is low maintenance and any sailing damage can be easily repaired.
  • The sloop has a self-draining cockpit , which means that the water drains from the sloop without having to bail it out. A tarpaulin is therefore not (always) necessary.
  • Dutch made black or beige colourfast rope ring (nice protective rope edge).
  • Removable sun deck with lounge cushion in the same fabric and colour as the cushion set. This way you can enjoy the sun to the fullest by easily changing the front into a spacious sun deck.
  • Sprayhood with windows (great protection from the sun, rain and/or wind) with zipped-on cockpit cover (protect your sloop from dirt and moisture). Dutch made sprayhood with a stainless steel frame.
The roll-up windshield provides wonderful cooling.
Easy to attach with snaps. A 100% waterproof black acrylic cloth type Niecryl from the brand Nieberg. Because acrylic is a synthetic fiber, bacteria and fungi have no effect on acrylic. The fabric has low moisture absorption. Very colorfast (UV resistant): 7/7-8. The water column is at least 800mm. This actually means that the cloth only lets water through when a pressure is applied that is comparable to the weight of a column of water of 0.8 meters high. Total weight of the fabric: 320g/m2.
  • Stainless steel cleats for securing with mooring lines.
  • Steering console with black plastic steering wheel.
  • Anchor hatch: nice place at the front of the boat to store your anchor safely and out of sight.
  • Stainless steel (stainless steel) trailer eye at the front.
  • Sail without a boating license up to 20 kilometers per hour (from 12 years up to 13 kilometers per hour) for a sailing speed of approximately 14 kilometers per hour. Tip: this sloop is also good to sail electrically.
  • Maximum 20 HP.
  • Complies with the Recreational Craft Act.
  • This motorboat is approved for 8 adults.
  • Meets strict CE requirements for stability, buoyancy and reserve buoyancy, handling characteristics, engine and engine compartment, electrical system, control system and fire safety.
  • CE approved design category D for 6 adults: for sheltered coastal waters, small bays, rivers and canals at wind force 4 and wave height of half a metre.

Boat test

by water sports journalist Epco Ongering: The 575 looks more like a real sloop with the pointed-hole rear. But the biggest advantage is still in the price. Because part of the price riddle lies in the fact that these sloops are delivered with an outboard motor in a bun. That has a number of advantages and of course there is also a downside. An outboard is much cheaper to purchase and install than an inboard diesel. In addition, the maintenance of an outboard petrol engine is cheaper than that of a diesel and you no longer have a space-consuming engine box in the cockpit. Moreover, by steering with the engine you can do without a rudder installation. The limited standard version and the outboard drive make the 575 a lot cheaper than a comparable diesel sloop.

The construction of the 575 clinker is neat enough. The gelcoat is applied tightly and seems to have sufficient thickness. The decks and hatches of the boat are also sturdy enough to walk over them with confidence. The benches are high enough and the backrests also meet the normal comfort requirements. The interior space is generous, but the storage space under the benches is limited. There are neat, small steps in the middle of the boat. Due to the lack of an engine box, there is plenty of space, which can be filled with a separate table. The steering console is slim but offers little space for storing the telephone or car keys. You can, however, transform the front bench into a sun bed.

Thanks to the engine steering, the boat can be turned on its own axis. The 575 is also excellent to manoeuvre when sailing backwards. There are also disadvantages. When sailing at idle, the 15 hp in the well is whisper-quiet, but when you accelerate, the outboard makes a lot more noise than a diesel. And because of the large weight in the back, the sloop tends to lean backwards, resulting in a large stern wave. Nevertheless, the 575 sails like a serious sloop. For a relatively modest amount, you have a pleasant-looking, neat sloop with which you can tour around perfectly. With sufficient seating comfort, good view and excellent manoeuvrability.

This impression of the Admiral 575 XL was made a few years ago. The prices and versions mentioned are from that moment.
